  1. Leaves your hair smelling heavenly! star rating

Posted by morepleez on 4th Feb 2016

I have 4C natural hair and I found that this conditioner left my hair soft, bouncy and my natural curl felt elongated. I loved the smell and it actually even stayed on my hair a couple of days. I would recommend this product and it is now one of my staple products!

  2. Brilliant conditioner, but not an all-rounder. star rating

Posted by Suzi on 8th Jun 2015

This is a very thick, odd-smelling oily conditioner which gives a heavy dose of moisture to dry or porous hair. Those with non porous hair-types may find that this tends to sit and not fully penetrate, so I would reccommend using more sparingly, and with heat. Those with fine hair should rinse thoroughly, and will still find that this 'sits' slightly outside the cuticle. However, this seems to have the strange effect of giving hair fantastic body, so I would reccommend to those with fine hair looking for body and hydration to use this and then fluff hair at the roots. Experiment with it, and once you get the hang of it you will find yourself reaching repeatedly for this no-nonsense, heavy-duty moisturiser. Very good in the winter.

  3. I love it! star rating

This is my favorite conditioner overall. It really keeps my 4b/4c hair moisturized for the whole week. I really like this product.

  4. Nice rich conditioner. star rating

Posted by Olivia on 2nd Mar 2015

This is a good, rich conditioner which I find very nourishing for my type 2b, thick, porous hair. The smell is a little overpowering at first but it doesn't linger on the hair.

  5. great to co-wash star rating

Posted by Maria on 23rd Feb 2015

I use this conditioner to co-wash my daughter's hair (4c). I like it and think the price is reasonable.

  6. great conditioner star rating

Posted by Unknown on 26th Sep 2014

I really like this conditioner as it helps to detangle my hair and leaves it moisturised but not too fly-away. Am going to try a few others to compare.

  7. Brillant conditioner, some minor flaws star rating

Posted by Ren on 17th Jul 2014

My 2a/b, low porosity hair loves this conditioner! It makes me hair beautifully soft and visibly healthy. It's the best conditioner I've ever used for my hair.

There are only two minor flaws with this product that other people have already mentioned. Firstly, it has virtually no slip. I had to buy a second, cheaper conditioner to detangle my hair. As long as I detangle first though, the Aubreys conditioner works fantastically. As a bonus, I'm not wasting my expensive conditioner on detangling my mop!

Secondly, the smell. It's a strong scent, and smells like incense sticks to me. It doesn't linger though. The scent stays for as long as my hair takes to dry. Within hours it fades to nothing more than background notes.

The minor flaws are really just that though: minor. They can be easily worked around, if you want to give this conditioner a try.

  8. good conditioner, but pungent smell star rating

Posted by Unknown on 23rd Jun 2014

I'm a 2a/b with coarse, porous hair and this conditioner works really well on my hair. Unfortunately, I'm really not keen on the smell though, it's very artificial/medical, so I shall try something else next time.

  9. best deep conditioner I've found star rating

Posted by 3b/c mixed, highlighted hair on 5th Jun 2014

I bought this item a couple of weeks ago, after noticing my recently highlighted hair was becoming really dry and dull. I've only used this as a deep treatment on dry hair but I can't believe the difference in the appearance and feel of my hair. I thought my hair was pretty healthy (before the highlights anyway) but I have never experienced having such shiny hair as I have since using this product, it also keeps my hair feeling silkily soft days after wash day. I love how you only need to leave the conditioner on for 15minutes as a deep treatment, as this really cuts down the time it takes to do my hair. I will definitely be buying this product again and trying some more of the Aubrey organics range (I like the protein conditioner too). The only negative thing I wish is that hey did it in a bigger bottle

  10. Wonders in a bottle ! star rating

Posted by Faye on 8th Apr 2014

    I Love It !
My hair is detangled, soft, manageable, in 15 min your hir is DC what a time saver, I found my staple conditionner but would be great if it would come in a bigger size though.

  11. The Winner star rating

Posted by Brown Eyed Girl on 4th Feb 2014

I have tried many deep conditioners but this one has my heart. This was one of the first deep conditioners I used when I started my healthy hair journey and I really liked it, but also wanted to try out new things. I have tried some good DC's but they do not compare to this greatness. This conditioner is nice and thick (can be difficult to get the last bits out of the bottle and that is where cutting open the bottle comes in handy) and the smell is not too overpowering. I do mix it with other oils and honey so that may add to the overall effectiveness of it. I use it on dry hair so it is my DC and pre shampoo treatment and it sets up my hair nicely for washing. it works very well and lasts a decent amount of time.

  12. Belissimo star rating

Posted by Raffaella on 30th May 2013

This product was well received by my 4b hair! It made my hair all soft and the smell is great, will definitely be using this, its now my main conditioner! Recommend it for people with dry hair!

  13. Good conditioner for my 4b hair! star rating

Posted by Unknown on 25th May 2013

I purchased this after reading the reviews and have been on the look out for a conditioner which really moisturises my dry 4b hair. I have to say that I was really impressed. It left my hair soft and manageable, one of the best conditioners I have used so far. I also purchased the white camellia at the same time and I think for me it just has the slight edge which is why I gave this one 4 stars but I would definitely purchase this as my number two. great product!

  14. MADE MY HAIR SOOOOO SOFT! star rating

I do like this product, however i don't like the smell!!!

  15. A longtime staple star rating

Posted by Gina on 17th Apr 2013

I've been using AO conditioners for years now, and ONLY use these to Deep condition my hair because of the 100% natural ingredients (and the fact that my hair likes them of course!). I'll leave it on for about 30mins, donning a plastic cap, and going under my hooded dryer. It worked great for me when I was relaxed, but now that I'm natural I find it works MUCH better for me mixed with a humectant of some kind otherwise it can sometimes be a little bit drying. But as long as Aubreys continue producing these conditioners, I'll be buying them. Great stuff! Oh, and if you're looking for slip, then you'd better look elsewhere for some silicone laden product!

  16. Great conditioner star rating

Posted by Anna on 12th Mar 2013

This is really moisturizing. It leaves the hair very soft and smells lovely. The curls were enhanced and made them really stand out after rinsing. I only wish they did it in a bigger bottle.

  17. Great for 4a/4b transitioners star rating

Posted by 4a/4b transitioner on 2nd Jan 2013

This is one of the very few conditioners that give my hair GREAT slip. I usually add avocado oil and coconut oil and go under my hooded dryer for 45mins and my hair comes out soft and moisturised. I have also noticed that my scalp is also moisturised. Worth a try!

  18. Hydrating star rating

Posted by Lisa 3b/4c on 31st Oct 2012

I've always have good experiences with Aubrey so I was pleased when I got this as a free sample. The sample size was not enough to cover all my hair so I mixed it with Curls Tea conditioner and worked it through damp/nearly dry hair.
Results: My hair looks glossy, feels silky and hydrated.

  19. Very Moisturising star rating

Posted by Fine 4a on 23rd Oct 2012

The ingredients are great; Aloe Vera, Shea butter, Wheatgerm oil, glycerine...with all those ingredients it should be great and it is. I have used this on and off for over four years now. Every time I stray and find that my hair is not soft I remember this DC and it sorts me out. I don't know why I keep trying new DCs!

Works great on dry hair over night or damp hair under the steamer.

  20. Big disappointment star rating

Posted by Unknown on 5th Jul 2012

I was really excited to get this conditioner after hearing all the good things about it. However, when I applied it to my hair (4a/b), it was really hard to spread evenly and seemed to just sit there! I tried to improve it by adding coconut oil and honey to improve the slip but even then, my hair wasn't detangled, wasn't moisturised and was just an all-round let down. Really irritated that I wasted part of my already-tight student budget on this! :(

  21. Perfect deep conditioner star rating

Posted by Nini on 29th Jun 2012

I love A.O's Honeysuckle Rose conditioner for deep conditioning. It works fine on it's own under a steamer for about 20 minutes but I mix it with olive oil for an ultra moisturising treatment.
My tangles literally melt away with this mix and my hair is left soft and moisturised.

  22. did absolutely nothing for my hair star rating

Posted by Unknown on 22nd May 2012

i have mainly 4a with 3c and 4b, this product for me had no real slip, it did not moisturize my hair and only sat on it (given also that i have low porosity hair). i left it on for hours first, than tried using a steamer with it, than finally a hooded dryer. no difference was noticed.

  23. Average star rating

Posted by Brittney on 7th Mar 2012

I think this conditioner is ok. In order for it to really work on my hair I have to add oil to it, and in my opinion if I have to add extra ingredients to something especially if it is already pricey then I'm not sold. Once I use up this bottle I won't be repurchasing it.

  24. A massive disappointment. star rating

Posted by rjcarda on 20th Dec 2011

I really wanted to like this product but it did nothing for my dry 3b hair. My curls didn't feel any softer after using this (I tried it both as a wash-out conditioner and as a DT) and in fact it made my scalp rather itchy! Moreover, de-tangling my hair with this product became a herculean task, as it provides NO slippage at all. Unfortunately I've got plenty of it left, so I may try using it as a hand cream.

  25. Good conditioner star rating

Posted by sophie on 25th Oct 2011

I have 3c/4a hair. After I washed and deep conditioned my hair with this conditioner my hair felt soft and shiny. But i feel like i lost my curl pattern. The hair is so soft that it doesn't curl as it should. I tried it as a leave in. Again, it leaves my hair soft but the curls aren't as defined as i would like them to be. A little goes a long way if you want to use it as a leave in.

  26. Works even on 4c hair!!!! star rating

Posted by Patricia on 17th Oct 2011

Very happy with my purchase of this product on British curlies. I was skeptical that this might not work on my 4c tight coils which I love to pull and touch. So excited that I am 5months post-relaxer. The conditioner did a great job. I even mixed it once with my Curl Harmony deep conditioner and the results were outstanding. Despite not using heat, curls were very very moisturized. Aubrey has been added to my hair regimen.

  27. ??? star rating

Posted by Dana on 6th Oct 2011

I don't get it. I've tried this product in so many ways. On dry hair, wet hair, on its own, with oils and honey added, with heat, without heat, overnight...and it just does nothing for me. I guess my expectations were just too high. (I'm 4b/c by the way)

  28. ... star rating

organic conditioner: not too much slip - but very moisturising...can add other products (additional coconut oil etc) for a really deep DC. x
    (I am 3c/4a)

  30. too thick. overwelming smell. but good for hair! star rating

Posted by hypera on 9th May 2011

  31. Moisturised and silky smooth hair star rating

Posted by Unknown on 17th Mar 2011

I find this very moisturising when i use it with the HR shampoo. My hair is silky smooth. The consistency is very thick- i have fine 4a hair and find it loves thick conditioners and it does have a smell, i can't describe it, herbal/mediciney, either you'll love it or hate it but because it makes my hair feel so good i like it! I use it for 15 mins under a hood dryer after washing my hair. The next day my hair is always easy to manage.

  32. Not that impressed star rating

Posted by Julia D on 14th Oct 2010

Im giving it a 3 stars because ingredients aren't particularly harmful. In saying that it smells nice yes hair is soft BUT my scalp is sooooo flaky since using this product.
Maybe because the infusion of ingredients isnt working....I dont know.
Sorry wont be making this purchase again!!

  33. Great Deep Conditioner star rating

Posted by Nisha on 18th Sep 2010

I bought this looking for a deep conditioner that isn't packed with silicones, so when I tried this a wash-out I wasn't surprised when it went horribly wrong. It kind of sat on my hair making it more difficult to untangle.
However that night I spread a decent amount on my hair and wrapped up. When I washed it out the next day my hair felt so soft and moisturised, so it done what I needed it to do. I had just dyed my hair and the ends were pretty fried, since using this they are so soft and healthy. I also use this a moisturiser in my wash and goes because the dryness of my hair has always been a problem.
So basically I love the stuff as a deep conditioner and a moisturiser, and that all the ingredients are natural. Also it is very very thick so I can water it down to make it last longer! I think this might be my staple deep conditioner..
Also the smell is weird a mix between sunscreen lotion and hair removal cream, though it doesn't linger or bother me.

  34. Best conditioner ever star rating

Posted by Unknown on 2nd Aug 2010

I either use this conditioner on dry hair over night or on damp hair under the steamer. Both result in beautifully soft hair. Only problem is that it is very thick thus it is hard to get out of the bottle. Also I end up using the whole bottle in one go. To make it go farther I use half the bottle and top it up with honey and yogurt.
I have used this conditioner for years and whenever I stray I always come back to this one.

  35. cant seem to get my head round this one star rating

Posted by mariyah on 21st Jul 2010

i used this conditioner as a deep conditioner with a plastic cap, i like to leave deep conditioners in for longer as you get better results but with this one it kinda made my scalp burn after a while i had to rinse it out so quick i just couldnt leave it in any longer. itis still sat on my bathroom shelf so yes i would be using it again just not leaving it in longer.

  36. I just keep coming back to AOHR star rating

Posted by oddityofwings on 30th May 2010

AOHR was one of the first 'popular' CG conditioners I used, it's possibly one of the best, and no matter what I try, I just keep coming back to it. It's great for all-round moisture no matter what your hair type (though the dryer and more coarse you are the more likely you are to like it). I've used it as a daily rinse-out, a DT, and a leave-in - and it works well for all of these. My only gripes are the fact it has so little slip (at least for me), and the scent, which is certainly not honeysuckle rose but a very sweet, almost cloying floral.

  37. One of the best moisturising conditioners around! star rating

Posted by CrystalTips on 3rd Apr 2010

This was the first conditioner I bought to start my CG routine and I haven't been without it since! It's great as a DT and a rinse out and it always leaves my hair nicely moisturised. This conditioner will always be in my product rotation!

  38. Very moisturizing. star rating

Posted by Melika on 1st Apr 2010

I love it as a DT or rince out. Don't like as a leave in, though. My hair really looks better since I use it.
