    1. Smells nice star rating

This smells wonderful but it didn't work at all on my 4a/4b hair. :(

After trying out Ecostyler gel and somewhat liking the hold it gave my hair (as well as being alcohol free) I wasn't keen on the crunch I acquired on my 3C/4A hair a couple of hours later.
However this Red Tea Souffle is not only all natural (YAY) and fortified with wonderful heath benefitting ingredients, but it provides a beautiful silky hold with minimal crunch!!!
Absolutely no flaking has occurred and and I'm really loving the soft and creamy texture that this gel provides. Plus a little really does go a long way, so don't have to worry about having sticky, clammy hair after a day or two.
Haven't yet used on a twist or braid out, but for neatening up slick buns and do's whilst moisturising your curls and waves, this one is a winner.
      YAY.

    4. If you want something with hold . . . This is it! star rating

This is the second or third tub of this stuff I have bought so, I feel like I can give you an honest review. I really like the hold this product provides, it goes on smoothly and has a really light texture but, it packs a punch. I use it for slick buns and it does not let me down. It keeps my frizz at bay and my hair does not feel like concrete at the end of the day either which can happen with some gels therefore I can come/brush it out with no problems. I have not used it for a twist out or a braid out but, the hold is excellent. I think this one is a keeper for me. I have 3C hair and alternate between this and eco styler gel (the pink one)

    5. too sticky for me star rating

too much like a gel - my hair tends to like creams , but not oily or buttery creams - product did not work at all on my " european afro " medium texture very porous coarse curly hair. My curly friends with different curls are trying it now.

    6. good hold and moisturising. star rating

This is probably one of the best styling products I have ever used.... I use it at least once a week on my 3c -4c wet or damp hair, over a leave in conditioner or a moisturiser. I always do a braid out with it and my curls are always left defined (my hair never takes on the shape of the braid I do the braid out to allow my different curl patterns to stretch out in a more uniform way allowing them to blend together more easily....) . My hair always has hold, never crunch, always moisturised. It smells if tea. It's not an offensive smell. The smell never lingers. I can't smell it after a couple if mins. Glycerin free (I can use it all times of the year and my hair retains its stretch which has become more beneficial as my hair had become longer).

This is gonna sound crazy but I bought this in November of 2012 and it ran out last week (january 2014). I swear I use it every week. Granted I don't use a lot. I have worked out that with my hair less is more especially when it comes to styling and avoiding the crunch. For me it is well worth the 7 quid.

I've used the Hairveda range before, and I don't mind it, but found that when it comes to hold I didn't get it. I have 3c/4a hair, and this Red Tea Hair Souffle gave a lot more hold than, say, the Hair Gelly. I will definitely buy it again. Shame it's not on sale anymore!

    8. Good anti-frizz on dry hair star rating

      Posted by Curlybleachblonde22 on 28th Jul 2013

I bought this as a styling product but it left my 2c Botticelli's looking lank and drab. Heavy and not enough hold for me. I need a gel. However, I'm having huge success using this as a final product for stopping canopy frizz on dry hair. Only a little is needed so this tub is lasting me well. Not a fan of the smell but I'm never aware of the smell on my hair.

    9. does what it says on the tin star rating

Hair type: 4a, kinky coily, low porosity, fine and dense.
I used this product both ways: one, as a wash and go- it defined my curls and gave my 4a hair a lot of sheen. However, it took a fair bit of product to get it this way (hair is armpit length when stretched), so wouldn't do that again.
For twists and twist outs; that is when the product really shines. There's hold, but it's not crunchy or flakey. It feels firm to the touch on the first day, and then it softens over a couple of days (am into the second day of my twist out). I bought this because it was on sale, and am using it, and thinking I will buy it again.
The reason why it doesn't get five stars is that on its own, it seems to be drying? I'd use this with a moisturiser or oil just to keep your hair ends from becoming thrashy.

    10. My favourite styler so far! star rating

Posted by Unknown on 22nd Jun 2013

My hair really seems to like this product. .It gives me very good defintion and more importantly it doesnt leave my hair hard, stiff or dry. I have not had any flaking in my hair either. Its a definate staple for me now. i just wish it came in a larger size. i dont think you need too much though. It works very well ( for me) with the red tea moisturiser too. i think i'm hooked on both products!.
(If it helps, i have 4a/3c hair)

    11. Best curl definer so far star rating

Posted by Unknown on 6th Apr 2013

I switched to this product from KCCC as no matter how little I used in my hair, I started to get white residue after 3 days. And it is more affordable. The product defines my curls perfectly, is a good moisturiser and does not leave any white residue. The only issue with it is that it shrinks my curls...

    12. Love the hold! star rating

Posted by Aullie T on 1st Apr 2013

I love this product. Bought it to go over coconut and hibiscus curl smoothie. I used to use hair gel on my hair to keep the curls in (sin.....until I discovered BC) this is the first product I've used that keeps my curls but without it going hard, crunchy, flaky or leaving any residue. I think it needs a moisture product underneath to get the look you want, then put this over the top to keep it that way. I like the smell, not too strong and love the price more. Think this is a staple for me. Just need to find the right moisturiser to go underneath.

    13. Great product for frizzies! star rating

Posted by Debbie on 21st Jan 2013

This is great. My fine 3a hair is less frizzy. I have used this on dry hair to smooth my canopy. Very moisturising . I plan to try through wet hair as a styling aid. The smell is like tea but not once on the hair. I love hairveda products, such good value :)

    14. Not the strongest hold, but good enough for me.. star rating

Posted by OreoLover on 5th Dec 2012

I've always been quite sceptical about using gels as other brands have left white flakes or rubbery strands in my hair. This gel does neither on my hair and the hold lasts throughout the day, without plastering my hair to my head. I've finished my sample pack and will definitely be buying more.

    15. a bit drying but could be my fault star rating

Posted by Deanna on 28th Nov 2012

I bought the sample and used it for a braid out over a leave in which I sealed with an oil (tresemme naturals). It defined my curls well but was a quite drying. As it does not have glycerin in it I do not think that the drying out was a side effect of the bad weather and I am using tresemme natural;s as a leavein all the time without a drying effect. So it think it has to be this souffle.
It may be that I just need to make sure I put a amoisturiser beneath the gel on future braid outs and the drying will cease.
Either way I think its got great hold, smells nice, and is well priced. Furthermore its glycerin free which will be great for the next couple of months. Will update how future braid outs with a moisturiser beneath go.

    16. Not sure on that one... star rating

Posted by Lu on 8th Nov 2012

I don't think I will buy this product again. It doesn't dry out the hair, but it doesn't hold it too well either. I have very thick and tight curl (3c/4a)and I think it doesn't work for me.
The smell is very nice though.
