The cleansing agents in this cleanser are two of the most gentle available ensuring that it won't dry out your hair. If it's been a few days since you last washed your hair, you might not experience a huge amount of lather on your first application of Hair Cleansing Cream. This does NOT mean that your hair isn't clean. If you desire a more robust lather, washing a second time through should satisfy your needs. For an even more in depth cleaning, leave the lathered Hair Cleansing Cream on your hair for a few minutes before rinsing it out. This cleanser is gentle enough to be used every day, and is perfectly safe for color treated hair. I also like using it as body wash with a bath poof it leaves my skin SO much softer than soap.

    1. hg shampoo for weekly. star rating

Posted by Unknown on 25th Oct 2017

my hair is a mixture of highly porous and normal porosity (bleached), fine , thin type2b/c.
i haven't mastered day two hair in high dew points so wash at least twice per week.
i have tried the cleansing cream and gentle lather and use both. i have great results with both. clean without the dry birds nest effect on the bleached part of my hair and soft and not squeaky, but feels very clean.
i use hair gel and leave in conditioner and oil if its needed, the cleansing cream and the gentle lather remove any products well, but not drying.

    2. Disappointing star rating

Posted by Tam on 28th Sep 2017

This cleansing cream is nothing like any cleansing cream I have bought before. It's more like a drying shampoo, it doesn't look like a cleansing cream or act like one. It has left my hair dry and frizzy. A lot of money for a poor product.

    3. nothing special for the price star rating

Posted by Unknown on 14th Jun 2017

You can get cheaper and does a lot better. Does nothing great for the hair just fairly average.

    4. Never thought a shampoo could make so much difference star rating

Posted by Unknown on 26th Oct 2015

This doesn't foam up like a shampoo and you don't necessarily feel like it's cleaning your hair but it definitely does! My hair doesn't look greasy and it has massively reduced the frizz!

    5. too heavy star rating

Posted by Unknown on 30th Jul 2015

I have fine curly hair and even though it didnt irritate the scalp found it too heavy on my fine curly hair. More suitable for thicker hair

    6. Definitely not a shampoo star rating

Posted by Paula Turner on 25th Jul 2015

Not cheap, but leaves my hair clean, not stripped like the sulphate shampoos available off the shelf do. Also kind to my sensitive scalp. What price gorgeous hair?

    7. Good results but slightly over-priced star rating

Posted by Krullebol on 10th Apr 2015

This is a good product and works well even with the first wash. It leaves my hair soft, clean and shiny and would consider recommending it to a friend but it isn't cheap and I was hoping a little would go a long way but I find I need to use slightly more than with a traditional shampoo to get a clean feel, hence only 4 stars. I guess it is imported and has quality ingredients. Will keep looking for a cheaper alternative but likely will buy again.

    8. cleans the scalp but dries out my hair. star rating

Posted by Unknown on 7th Apr 2015

This is my first time using this product and I've got mixed reviews. The good thing about this product is that it really cleans your hair, and I mean properly cleans it. Because one of he issues with many products that I have used was that it doesn't really clean my scalp properly. But I had no problems with this product at all when it comes to cleaning my scalp.

However what i didn't like was that it actually dried my hair out making it lifeless and limp. the reason why i got this product was that a lot of reviews said that it didn't dry out their hair. However it didn't work for me.

I don't think I would want to but this product again. My hair didn't like it and I got 3a hair

    9. AMAZING CLEANSER star rating

    10. Nice Product, more like a shampoo though star rating

Posted by CurlyIrishGal on 27th Oct 2014

This is much more like a traditional shampoo than I woud have thought... Having used Deva No Poo and liked it, I expected something similar, especially as it is named a cleansing cream.... It is not at all creamy. I quite liked it overall though - but it feels like it does clarify, but also doesn't ause that typical shampoo like dryness. Would prefer No poo as a cleanser, but this might be good once every few washes to get more out?

    11. not for me star rating

Posted by Unknown on 9th Oct 2014

Smells lovely, cleans effectively, but for my fine cherub curls it was just too rich.
You do get a little lather though, and on thicker, stronger curls I think this would be great.

    12. Fantastic cleanser star rating

Posted by C. Queen on 25th Dec 2013

This is one of the best cleansers for curly hair I've ever tried. It's a great alternative to those that don't co-wash. Its quite runny, so easy to distribute and isn't drying at all. I have type 2 curls and this didn't weigh my hair down. Left my hair very clean and moisturised. A HG product.

    13. Great shampoo star rating

Posted by Linda on 17th Sep 2013

It's very hard to find shampoo without chemicals. This shampoo have natural ingredients with gentle surfactants and it leaves hair very soft without making it oily. Love it!!!

    14. best cleanser I have ever used star rating

Posted by Unknown on 21st Jul 2013

the best cleanser I have used. I have type 2 thick hair. It cleans my hair without making it feel squeaky and stripped. I do however find that I have to wash my hair more often (every 2 days) than with other shampoos but as this product is so gentle this is not a problem. I had been concerned that it might be too rich and heavy for my hair type but this did not happen. Would recommend and purchase again.

    15. Amazing product!! star rating

      Posted by sunshine88 on 24th Oct 2012

This cleansing cream is totally amazing...cleans hair beautifully without stripping. Leaves hair clean but also conditioned with no frizz. Cant believe its taken me years to find it! My hair type is fine but really dry. Will be buying this forever!

    16. simply liquid gold ! star rating

      Posted by Blackrose938 on 6th May 2012

wow this product for me has become the holy grail of cleansing excellence hands down !! i have 3 spent years looking for the perfect hair cleanser since all my old sulphate and non sulphate shampoo's one by one ganged up against me and made my hair and scalp dry and itchy and flaky and in some cases caused my hair to shed ! even my well beloved conditioners i trusted betrayed me aswell lol ? hence i no longer use them after cleansing BUT i still DC before washing , sorry i digressed back to my JCC review .... this is the only thing that cleans , and conditions my hair without stripping it and stops any itchy or shedding or flaking i can run my fingers through my 4a hair whilst washing it .... 2 good shampoos are perfect for me and i leave the 2nd lather in for 2-5 mins before rinsing . my staple without a doubt .

    17. going to get the maxi size next time star rating

Posted by curliely on 23rd Dec 2011

really awesome cleanser, cleanses oils and dc's too, very moisturizing despite being a shampoo sort of, it even detangles my hair if i play with it longer. i got the citrus frangrance, i don't know if it is new, it smells like something citrusy logically, it is ok but i would get the fragrance-less next time. i would def recommend this cleanser, together with the hairveda amala rinse cream, both are amazing

    18. The perfect cleanser star rating

Posted by rjcarda on 20th Dec 2011

I had originally ordered a sample of this product from British Curlies and loved it so much that I've now ordered the salon size bottle! This cleanser leaves my hair clean and soft and the consistency also makes it very easy to apply. In sum, I cannot fault this product!

    19. Great for 4a hair star rating

Posted by Kelly S. on 8th Dec 2011

I have a sensitive scalp and wiry fragile 4a hair that are natural and tend to get dry. I have used this shampoo weekly or bi-weekly and am grateful for this all-natural company and shampoo. My water is hard and the shampoo still foams up, leaving my hair and scalp super clean without drying. Highly recommended for the most sensitive curls. Also works great for my daughter's 3a hair. Cocomidapropyl betaine is a gentle cleanser and foam booster to remove dirt from what I've read on cosmetics books. The texture of the shampoo is like a gel and makes it easy to spread over kinks so I don't have to mix it with water to dilute it before applying.

    20. Lovely Lightly Lathering shampoo star rating

Posted by Ana Maria on 9th Nov 2011

I love this shampoo. I bought it after cutting off the ends of my relaxer. During that transition, I needed a gentle shampoo as my ends were extremely dry. This shampoo washes really well as it lathers but with all of its moisturizing ingredients actually leave my hair NOT at all dry and ready for my conditioner. I hear that one should alternate shampoos. I don't know if this is a rule that applies to shampoos with silicones or also to natural shampoos. That's the only reason why I would look for a second shampoo to alternate with.
