For the Curling Gel Souffle, we recommend applying only a 5p size amount to clean, wet hair, without other styling products or leave-in conditioners.
Please do not be heavy handed with this product. Less is truly more.
Use on damp hair will result in looser, wavy curls on wet hair hair expect riotous curls! Can also be used on dry hair to minimize fly-aways and frizz. When using a blow dryer choose a cool or warm setting. Use sparingly, this is a very moisturising product.

Tried the curl enhancing smoothie first due to all the reviews but didnt like it so decided to try this one out.
I do really like this product and use it as part of my wash and go routine. My hair looks shiny and the curls last all week.
(I dont use 1 particular brand for all my wash and go products, Im OK with mixing it up as long as it works and my hair (3c) likes it).

It is a good curl booster for my 3a/b hair. But I don`t like the look after using it. My hair looks wet and oily all the time,.....

The Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Gel Soufflé is a great product, it defines and finishes off my curls, giving me the look I love.
Do not apply to much of this as it can leave the hair sticky! Learn how much product your hair needs.
Overall - 4/5.

After reading raving reviews about this product, I do not see what the fuss is about. It may work on others but it does not like my 4b/c hair. I notice every time I use it, it makes my hair even thicker and coarse. I don't like the consistency either it's kind of grainy and extremely oily. Maybe I'm using it wrong, I will keep experimenting as it's too expensive to waste but will not purchase again :(

I bought this hoping it would be a cheaper alternative to KCCC. The texture looks so similiar, but it's not really as easy to work with for me. I know many people struggle with KCCC, but as long as I didn't overdo it I usually got great results and 2-3 day hair on my 3a/b mix curls. Anyway, I was careful with the curling soufflee not to use too much, and with experimentation have found I can use a little bit more than I need w/KCCC. I actually like it layered under a curl cream then a hard hold gel (for some this might be too much product, but my hair needs it), to get optimum curl formation and hold. It works best when emulsified into an almost invisible oily film before being scrunched into hair - I think of it as a sort of moisture barrier. It works well under Jessicurl Confident Coils, oddly enough for me as my hair doesn't really love CC on its own. It also works well with Body Shop Cottonseed Curl cream and Ag:Recoil though it's not really necessary with the Re:coil so I tend to conserve it. It has little to no hold for me personally, but it does make my curls pop and give them a bit of shine. Without a curl cream I get more sort of stretched out, slightly clumpy curls that seem limp but actually hold out for two days. It doesn't work as well for me with a curl cream underneath as it does on top but that could just be the combos I've tried.I am eager to try it under the SheMoisture curl cream (forget what it's called sorry) as I hear they work well together. The tub is huge and I've barely made a dent in it, so it is good value for money. That said I'm still pining for KCCC, this stuff is good, but not as good as KCCC for me anyway.

I was reluctant to purchase this product due to the not so good review, however, I am happy I did! I love the shine and moisture I get for my wash and go. I apply this after my leave in and leave to air dry (doesn't take too long) and I have soft shiny curls all through till next wash day....a definite staple in my routine now.

I almost didn't buy it when I saw the price, but in a fit of desperation I decided to give it a go. Amazing product - holds my curls all day, even surviving being slept on. They're not kidding when they say to use sparingly, so the tub lasts absolutely ages. Easy to apply.
Really happy with it and will buy again.

WELL the curling soufflé has a weird consistency and it smells alright but it just didn't work for my 3b curls and trust me I have used this product in so many ways but I just didn't get the results I was looking for :(

Bought and tried it out. I co-wash and detangle my hair. And then apply a moisturising product on first in sections (as I am leave in OR sheamoisture curl enhancing smoothie) and then put on the curls souffle (for styling purposes) . My hair keeps the curl, shine and stays hydrated for days!!! I did the same for my little cousin and the style lasted a week.
It doesn't become crispy. To maintain the style I pineapple my hair and sleep on a satin pillow case.
Have recommended it to others. Love, love this product.

So this is my last updated review, it's been 2 weeks since i use it, i have recently change my products for the LOC method, i spray with water/aloe vera/lavender then use either Karen's Body Beautiful leave-in or Camille Rose naturals curl love moisture milk then monoi or argan oil, a creamy product like Camille rose naturals curlaide moisture butter and finally style with Shea moisture curling soufflé.
I gain more moisture now by doing all these steps and if i want my hair to be more shiny, less shrinky and hold together i'll use the curling soufflé. I'm really happy about it because it's a styler and a moisturizer which is a plus for not having crispy hair with other gel

There's my updated review of the curling soufflé, i first mist my hair with water/aloe vera/lavender then apply Kinky curly knot today, 2 little fingers of the Soufflé and finally for some hold the Camille rose naturals aloe whipped gel, it worked perfectly through the day, at first when it dried it was a bit weird and finally define, moisturize curls so i'm pretty pleased with result. I'm going to try it without the Camille rose gel to see if it keeps my hair in place with less shrinkage.
I'm still not sure if to buy the smoothie for maximum result or not...

i read quite a few review before buying it, it is more like a liquid jelly feeling, you can feel that it's a bit sticky on your hands so just use 2 fingers of it.
it works under a gel but i cannot really understand why it is really good... my daily regimen is a spray with half and half aloe vera, water and lavender water then kinky curly knot today, argan oil and camille rose naturals aloe whipped butter gel which works perfectly in all weather so i might try it with the curling soufflé undeneath.. i'll keep updating you guys, later

I was disappointed to realise just how oily this product is. The product's own description shows it has oils in it, but it just seemed to be a tub of oil to me. If your hair can handle oils then try this one out, but mine can't. I will use it for the ends and edges of my hair, but it's not so good for styling my whole head of hair.

i tend to have very dry hair and no leave in works for me no matter what i try but this alone on wet detangled hair after the shower is enough to moisturise me hair and it stays moisturised for days till my next wash day.
wash and go's:
it is the best even for those that experience dryness and tangling for wash and go's. i usually hate them because my hair is a mess after but with this it was soft like i had proper taken the time to moisturize n seal but without the effort.

The 2 stars are just for smell but the product did not do anything for my hair (4b/4c). I love the range of shampoos however.

This product says use a 5p size amount. I used a handful on the 2nd attempt and it still didn't deliver the result it promised. Will keep trying!

I've been using this for a few days now. I have thick, dry hair and it does manage to reduce the frizz, keep it quite moisturised and looking shiny, as well as tasting quite nice when I accidentally taste it by putting hair clips in my mouth to separate them. It is also quite good a holding twists in. However, once I take the twists out the curls tend to drop out quickly during the day, which doesn't usually happen with my hair, and my hair seems to take longer to dry with this stuff in it, which leaves it feeling sticky during the mornings. The tub is going to last forever, which is obviously a good thing if it works well on your hair, but once it's gone I doubt I'll be buying it again, unless I discover some fantastic technique whilst working my way through what's left.

Good product, I use it for twisting my hair and it is far much better than most products I have used. It really keeps my hair hydrated all the time and I am loving it:)

If you have what I call "bush hair" then this your product. I use it just for twisting my hair and not twist out because my hair it far to thick for any fancy things like that. But just waxing it with staff has returned the moisture.

Im only giving this 4 stars because its quite tricky to figure out the exact amount needed. It does say on the tub a 5p size amount which doesn't seem like a lot so i used a little more as my hair is mid back length.
I like the results, like the smoothie it left my hair soft defined and full, but with the added bonus of shine which i find is lacking in the smoothie.
It's easy to get carried away and add more than needed which will result in sticky/ slightly greasy hair but once you figure out the right amount, its a great product

I have 4b hair and this is the only product that I have found, so far, that moisturises my hair. It is best used for braid or twist outs and a little is all you need. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the sticky consistency but Iam heavy handy with products so will try it again using small amount.
